Our Focus
The Windsor Vein Centre is dedicated to the diagnosis, investigation, and treatment of venous and lymphatic disorders. This clinic was founded in 1992 by Dr. C. M. Iannicello (Royal College Certified Vascular Surgeon). Patients must be referred by their family physician or must be referred by a Specialist. Patients are then examined by a Vascular Surgeon. A pre-formed History and Physical formulated by Dr. Iannicello is then used. Specifically, the patient is asked about any previous history of trauma to either lower extremity. The patient is asked regarding any previous venous surgery or sclerotherapy. Also of importance is a positive family history for varicose veins. A detailed physical examination is then performed and a recommendation for treatment is made to the patient.
A New Direction
Dr. J.W. Speirs (Royal College Certified Radiologist) has been associated with the Windsor Vein Centre since 2003. Dr's Iannicello and Speirs pioneered Advanced Vein Technologies (AVT) and Endovenous Laser Therapy thus introducing the non-surgical therapy of varicose veins. By bringing together the history and physical examination and the investigation, one can determine the best form of treatment for each specific patient. The forms of treatment available would be either surgical, endovenous laser ablation, echosclerotherapy, standard sclerotherapy, or graded compression stockings.
